More than 500 villagers in Vannamoddai area (Mannar District) received free treatment from 20 doctors at the free Medical Camp organised by Timex and Fergasam Group.
Held at the Vannamoddai School premises on 30th June 2012, the full day health camp offered treatment from a group of specialists including neurologists and paediatricians as well as general practitioners, headed by a leading physician and a past president of the Independent Medical Practitioners Association (IMPA) Sri Lanka, Dr. Lakshman Weerasena.
The health camp offered free health check-ups to children and elderly people at the village and the team also issued free drugs on prescriptions given by consultants at the health camp.
Blood testing unit and an ad hoc laboratory for medical tests provided reports on the same occasion, enabling the doctors to carry out proper diagnoses for treatment of patients.
Organisers of the health camp commended the immense support given by the Army in the Vannamoddai area to make this health camp a grand success.
